The Team
Miranda Smith – Managing Director
Miranda began providing care in the community ten years ago, after working for a similar style agency in the United Kingdom.
She introduced the concept here in 1998, becoming one of the first private home care agencies in the country. Committed to providing a high standard of homecare Miranda has dedicated the last 9 years of her life to creating a team environment for her staff and care givers.
Miranda has two lovely boys aged 18 months and 3 years who frequently spend time in the office ensuring Miranda Smith is very much a family environment.
In addition to Miranda Smith Homecare, Miranda also runs Karitane Nurses and Nannies Bureau.
Meredith Rookes – Christchurch
Meredith has 10 years experience as an Occupational Therapist and more recently as Health Consultancy Manager for AIG Medical & Rehabilitation Ltd in London. After spending 8 years in London Meredith returned to New Zealand and now, after having two energetic boys welcomes the opportunity to establish Miranda Smith Homecare in Canterbury.
Helen Swiney – Wellington
Prior to establishing the Wellington Branch of Miranda Smith Homecare 6 years ago Helen worked as a Registered Nurse specialising in care of the elderly. Additional to this while raising her family of 4 boys she worked as a Tutor and established and ran a successful Nanny Agency. It was her time spent nursing elderly clients in Hospitals and Rest Homes however that convinced her of the importance of elderly people being able to live safely and with dignity in their own homes for as long as they wished.
Miranda Smith Homecare gives families and individuals this opportunity, and Helen and her team are committed to providing this with a caring, professional and personalised service.
